JCCARE Donations

JCCARE needs your donations, our adoption fees do not cover the costs of caring for the Chin in our program, we rely on donations to meet the needs of Chin in our foster homes.

Like most rescue organization we can use all the support, both financially and physically that we can get in the fight to return rescue dogs to health, rehabilitate and re-home them. Our rescue babies will appreciate your help in any way. We've gathered some ideas on this page to get you started, and thanks in advance for your support!

Join our Rescue Efforts

We would love to have you join our efforts. You don't have to be able to house dogs in your home to help. We often need help transporting Chin, coordinating pick ups and drops offs, making phone calls. We also take donations of pet item. There are many ways you can help. If you're interested, please contact Theresa Leatherwood.

Donate to our End of Trail Program

An "End of the Trail" (EOT) Chin is one that is either too old or too ill (or often both) to be adopted. In this case, the dog is placed with one of our foster families for the remainder of his or her life. It is very expensive to keep the old and infirmed but we are committed to finding loving homes for ALL the Chin we rescue, even if it is at our expense.

Donate a Service

Do you work in the animal community? Maybe you're a vet, a groomer or a trainer. A donation of your time and services or providing discounted services would help out immensely. If you can help in this way, please contact our director, Theresa Leatherwood.

Other Ways to Help out!!

Because we are run strictly by volunteers, we can always use help with our efforts.

  • Foster homes that care for the dogs before they are placed into permanent homes are needed. If you are not in a position to foster a dog, you can still help.
  • Transportation of rescues between cities and states is helpful when moving a rescue to their new home.
  • You can distribute brochures to your local shelters, vet offices, and groomer.
  • Offer to donate an ad in your local paper to inform readers about Japanese Chin Rescue.
  • Donations of pet items (food, crates, beds, toys, blankets) are always welcome.
  • Remember JCCARE at holiday time or any time throughout the year with a donation.

If you have anything to donate, please click here to e-mail Theresa Leatherwood She can tell you who to send donations of food, crates, beds, toys, etc. to. These types of donations will be distributed between the foster parents who have rescues in their home at the time of your donation. Financial donations are used for shots, heartworm checks, spay/neuter, teeth cleaning, etc. The adoption fee seldom covers what we have in the dog, so your donations are always welcome and very much appreciated.
