On this page, you will find instructions for how to do a variety of JCCARE tasks as well as other tips.
How to bring a Japanese Chin in to JCCARE:
Step 1: State and Regional Reps can submit photos directly to the Intake Committee, or contact Kirk at topekadogdad@gmail.com to have the photos submitted. If you are not a State or Regional Rep, please contact either your State or Regional Rep, or Kirk at topekadagdad@gmail.com to have your photos submitted to Intake. Once the Intake Committee has made a determination, an email will be sent indicating whether not the Intake request was accepted or not.
NOTE: If the committee says the dog is not a chin, but you feel you would personally like to help this particular dog then of course you may do so. JCCARE can not be responsible for your new foster’s expenses, but we will be happy to create a “Courtesy Posting” on Petfinder to help with placement.
Step 2: Submit an on-line Welcome In form
Please remember this is a very important step. If we do not have this form we can’t update the foster list and your new foster Chin will not be eligible for reimbursement.
Step 3: Once the form is received, you will receive confirmation that your Chin is in the JCCARE program.
How to get you foster Chin listed on PetFinder and the Website:
Step 1: Take some pictures of your foster Chin.
Tip: A picture is worth a thousand words. It is the first thing people will see when looking for a Chin on our website. Click here for tips on taking a good picture of your foster Chin.
Step 2: Write a bio for your foster Chin.
Tip: Be sure to include the Chin’s age, sex and location. Include information about the Chin’s personality and what would be an ideal home for this foster. Sell the good points but be honest about short comings such as aggression or potty training problems. Many people write bios in the first person for their foster.
IMPORTANT: Please spell and grammar check the bio before you send it in.
Step 3: Email photos and the bio for your foster Chin to your State or Regional Rep so they can coordinate getting your foster listed on PetFinder and the JCCARE website.
